Can you believe that nurturing positive relationships has psychological, physiological, emotional, organisational and performance-related benefits? Isn’t that incredible? The nerdy science bit tells us that positive relationships are not just a nice-to-have, but a prerequisite to performing at your best at work. Positive relationships are one of the biggest predictors of great performance and, in our humble opinion, would benefit from being promoted to the top of the ‘must do’ list.
Yet, given all of this, we find that nurturing relationships at work can be overlooked when things get tough and life is busy. Our clients tell us that with people creaking under out-of-control inboxes and diaries full to bursting of competing priorities, nurturing relationships is often deprioritised. Instead, most communication becomes virtual and proactively building relationships takes a back seat to tasks and to-do lists. This is understandable, of course, as nurturing relationships at work does take time and time appears to be the thing that there is never enough of. Wouldn’t you agree?
Given the enormous benefits to be gained from shining a light on nurturing positive relationships we are on a mission to get people to do just that.
We’ve developed an approach that enables positive, constructive, challenging, courageous and outcome-focused conversations.
It aims to bring out the best in people because it is strengths-based and embraces diversity to tap into the best of what everyone brings to work. It looks at communication, relationship pitfalls and Importantly enables people to take responsibility for ALL of their relationships at work, the good, the bad and the ugly.
So, if it’s excellence, not mediocrity, that you are looking for then look no further. We would love to put the spotlight on nurturing positive relationships in your workplace.
